Florida motorcyclists know that it can be dangerous to share the road with cars and trucks. Motorcycles can be easy for a driver to lose in the blind spots of a car or not see due to distracted driving. Any resulting car accident is often deadly for the motorcyclist.
Officials report that a Florida man was killed early March 7 when the motorcycle he was driving struck a car that came into his path. The car accident occurred near Orlando early in the morning, according to reports. Police say that the car driver attempted to make a left turn at the intersection and crossed into the motorcyclist's path, causing the accident.
The driver of the car was not hurt, but the motorcyclist perished as a result of his injuries. Though no charges have yet been filed in this tragic case, investigations continue. The preliminary indication from authorities is that formal charges are indeed pending.
When a death occurs as the result of a car accident, there are often economic consequences for the surviving family. Loss of wages or the costs of medical treatments can be an economic hardship. Often a family reeling from the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one does not know which way to turn for help. While they make funeral arrangements, they are likely wondering how such a tragedy could have occurred. While it remains to be seen what police action will be taken, the family may wish to ensure that all parties deemed responsible for the tragic death are held accountable for any negligent conduct through civil court.
